I haven't updated for a long while, and it just suddenly dawned on me that it doesn't feel right to abandon Xanga; so many recorded memories... Every year around this time I'd go back to my previous entries and see what I nagged about and what my new years' resolutions were. By doing this, it make me feel that somehow I did some self-reflections. But yes, it's been six years since I started using Xanga and I'm still here, nagging about almost the same things. I can see the changes in me, mostly that I've grown older (not necessarily more mature, but just older and aged). What I've done in the year 2007: 1. Jan.-June:: Worked at the Survey Lab at the University of Chicago. Met some great people and be friended with them. They are what I miss the most from Chicago. 2. June:: I got my Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Chicago. 3. June-July:: Stayed in Bellingham for a whole month. Didn't do anything except gaining weight and rest. I FINALLY GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE! 4. July:: Went to Kenting墾丁 with Zoe Jess Yuling. The only travelling I've done so far... 5. Aug.:: Did a small mission trip in the form of drama camp, which was organized by my friend from NTU台大外文. We went to an aboriginal village deep in the mountains of Hsinchu 新竹尖石鄉泰崗部落. 6. Sept.- first half of Nov.:: A blur... I did two translation cases, met up with friends in Taiwan, started a bible study group with my friends from NTU, interviewed for the hospitality staff for 2007 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival台北金馬影展. Watched three very good Taiwanese films: L'amour Legende松鼠自殺事件, The Most Distant Discourse最遙遠的距離, The Wall-passer穿牆人. Highly recommend L'amour Legende and The Wall-passer. 7. latter half of Nov.- first half of Dec.:: [11/23-28] Worked as the hospitality staff貴賓接待 for Nathan Meister, an actor from New Zealand whose film Black Sheep became one of the top box office seller in the festival. Met and spoke with lots of people... Met Arthur Dong, who eventually won Best Independent Film of the Golden Horse, and since Nathan and Charlie Nguyen became friends, we all hanged out. Charlie is the director of The Rebel, a Hollywood funded film shot in Vietnam and in Vietnamese and French. Charlie's brother Johnny plays the main character, and Johnny is a famous stun actor... he did Spider Man! [11/28] Hair Show / competition. I cut my hair and dyed it for the show. It was purple. We won second place. [12/08] Golden Horse Film Award Ceremony. Picked up guests from the airport, and then standbyed in Sherwood. Saw every celebrities, assisted some of them. Worth noting, not only the female celebrities are skinny, male celeb. are also very slim... Lust|Caution group色,戒團 was very on time, while others weren't. Tang Wei is gorgeous! [12/11] Because we won the hair show, went to a professional photography studio and shot photos. The photographer works with Catwalk凱渥 models. [12/18] Golden Horse retreat dinner. And now it's the end of 2007, and it doesn't feel like it...
